Conservation Minutes

Minutes of May 10, 2011

Present:  Roger Sweet, Hilliare Wilder, Eric White and Becky Cummings.

The minutes of the April meeting were accepted as read.

The Commission received a thank you note for the commission’s donation from the Ashuelot River Advisory Board and also a request for volunteers to help with water testing.   Due to State budget cuts funding for the water tests may become a thing of the past.

Minutes of the March meeting were accepted as read.

Minutes of March 15, 2011

Present:  Elise Kuder, Roger Sweet, Eric White, Hilliare Wilder and Becky Cummings.

Minutes of the February meeting were approved as read.

A brief discussion was held about the proposed Agricultural Commission and that some people seem to be opposed to it.  It was suggested that perhaps they don’t understand the concept and that it would be a commission made up of town farmers and be a way for them to promote farming in the area and to protect local farmers.

Next month Eric plans to attend the planning board meeting to have the NRI adopted.

Minutes of February 8, 2011

Present: Christa Patterson, Roger Sweet, Eric White, Hilliare Wilder

Minutes of the December meeting were accepted as read.  There was no January meeting.

Eric met with the selectmen last month to submit the budget for 2011.  We will remain at the previous year’s amount of $1500.

Eric and surveyor, John Bridges located, marked and recorded the two lost points on the Sullivan Nelson town line last month.  The $100 fee for John’s time was split with Nelson.

Minutes of November 9, 2010

Present:  Christa Paterson, Roger Sweet, Eric White, Chip Woodbury.  Also present was Ralph Jernberg from the NES ACCESS program of Gilsum and Sullivan.

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm and the minutes of the October meeting were accepted as read.

Minutes of October 12, 2010

Present:  Christa Patterson, Randy Smith, Roger Sweet, Eric White, Hilliare Wilder, Chip Woodbury and Becky Cummings.  Also present were two members of the Planning Board – Ann Sweet&Bob Switzer and Jeff Littleton, speaker.

The minutes of the September meeting were accepted as read.

Eric reminded people the Annual Meeting of NH Conservation Commissions is coming up soon.  If any members would like to attend, let him know ASAP as registration is due by the 28th.

Minutes of September 21, 2010

Present:  Elise Kuder, Christa Patterson, Roger Sweet, Eric White, Hilliare Wilder and Becky Cummings.

Minutes of the August meeting were accepted as read.

A correction was made to the June minutes.  Bob Switzer did not participate in the town line perambulation.

Roger and Eric met with Trustees of Trust Funds, Barbara Atwood and Henry (Butch) Brooks before the meeting to discuss forestry work on the Town Farm.  The two groups hope to meet with the selectmen on Monday, Sept. 27th.

Minutes of August 10, 2010

Present:  Roger Sweet, Eric White, Hilliare Wilder and Becky Cummings.

Minutes of the June meeting were accepted as read.

    Tentative dates were set up for:
    Jewett Park work – Sept. 18, 9 a.m.
    Trail to Town Farm – Oct. 16, 9 a.m.

    A date should be set to locate the last pin in Ellis Reservoir to complete the Nelson/Sullivan perambulation.  Margaret Schillemat from Nelson would also like to attend.

Minutes of June 8, 2010

Present:  Christa Patterson, Roger Sweet, Eric White and Becky Cummings.

The minutes of the May meeting were accepted as read.

A thank you note will be sent to the Harris Center for once again providing outdoor education programs to the local school.

Eric hopes to get together soon with Barbara Atwood and Butch Brooks (Trustees of Trust Funds) concerning the Town Forest.
