Minutes of May 8, 2012

Present:  Eric White, Chip Woodbury&Becky Cummings.

The minutes of the April meeting were accepted as read.

Swift Corwin will get the paperwork concerning the cut on the Town Farm to Eric soon.  Hopefully the cut can be done this summer.  Part of the trail should be re-flagged.  It is suspected that red squirrels have taken down some of the flags as they don’t like certain colors.  Roger has gotten verbal permission from Mary Parker to make a connector trail across her property onto Cross Road. 

Minutes of April 10, 2012

The minutes of the March meeting were accepted as read. 

Minutes of February 12, 2012

Present:  Roger Sweet, Eric White and Becky Cummings and John Marchessault from AmeriCorps/GreenCorps. 

John explained is he is working with the Access After-School Program in Gilsum.  He told us he will help set up a recycling program at the school, help create a garden for them to grow their own vegetables, teach conservation projects and work on preserved lands in both Gilsum and Sullivan.  Home Depot has donated a few bins for recycling and composting.  A worm farm will also be put together for the garden. 

Minutes of October 11, 2011

Present: Christa Patterson, Roger Sweet, Eric White, Hilliare Wilder, Chip Woodbury and Becky Cummings.

The minutes of the September meeting were approved with the following correction:  “Preliminary approval was expedited by DES for the Ketola property on Centre St.  Final approval is pending”. 

Minutes of September 13, 2011

Present:  Elise Kuder, Roger Sweet, Eric White, Hilliare Wilder, Becky Cummings and Carl Hagstrom, wetlands scientist. 

The minutes of the June meeting were accepted as read.  There were no meetings in July or August.

Minutes of June 14, 2011

Present:  Randy Smith, Roger Sweet and Becky Cummings.

The town fax machine was down the day of the ZBA hearing for Antis so they did not know the application for a back lot building permit had been withdrawn.   The application was denied by the committee because no one appeared for Antis.  After learning of the withdrawal, the ZBA rescinded their decision. 

Minutes of May 10, 2011

Present:  Roger Sweet, Hilliare Wilder, Eric White and Becky Cummings.

The minutes of the April meeting were accepted as read.

The Commission received a thank you note for the commission’s donation from the Ashuelot River Advisory Board and also a request for volunteers to help with water testing.   Due to State budget cuts funding for the water tests may become a thing of the past.

Minutes of March 15, 2011

Present:  Elise Kuder, Roger Sweet, Eric White, Hilliare Wilder and Becky Cummings.

Minutes of the February meeting were approved as read.

A brief discussion was held about the proposed Agricultural Commission and that some people seem to be opposed to it.  It was suggested that perhaps they don’t understand the concept and that it would be a commission made up of town farmers and be a way for them to promote farming in the area and to protect local farmers.

Next month Eric plans to attend the planning board meeting to have the NRI adopted.

Minutes of February 8, 2011

Present: Christa Patterson, Roger Sweet, Eric White, Hilliare Wilder

Minutes of the December meeting were accepted as read.  There was no January meeting.

Eric met with the selectmen last month to submit the budget for 2011.  We will remain at the previous year’s amount of $1500.

Eric and surveyor, John Bridges located, marked and recorded the two lost points on the Sullivan Nelson town line last month.  The $100 fee for John’s time was split with Nelson.
