Board of Selectmen Meeting Minutes

February 8, 2010


Selectmen present: Cheryl Labadie, Bob Thayer, Mark Paquette

Others present: Al Henry (Fire Chief), Randy Smith (Road Agent) and Ann&Roger Sweet

Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm.

Ann Sweet representing the energy Committee reported the application for the energy grant is due Feb. 15, 2010. Cheryl will meet with Ann on Sat. 2-13-10 along with Librarian Denise McFarland, to notarize the application and sign it. Ann also stated there would be a proposal for a wood fired boiler in the highway garage. And insulating the building to better increase energy savings 20% plus. Eric White continues to get estimates o this as required for the application process.

Al Henry reported the dry hydrant is complete, however loam and seed will still need to be done in the spring. The project cost came under the bid amount, therefore the money left over will be used for gravel to re-slope the roadway to the dry hydrant. Al requests if Randy Smith could do this to reduce costs of a contractor, the Selectmen agree.

A letter was received from a resident requesting property tax information. After reading the letter the selectmen will have an abatement application sent to the resident.

Payroll/Bills were approved.

Noted for next week, Feb. 15, 2010 a Rep from Argent Communications will attend to discuss a franchise agreement to service the towns’ cable for TV.

Also for Feb. 22, 2010 Bruce Barlow, a Monadnock Regional School board member will be here to meet with the selectmen.

Southwest Region Planning Commission newsletter received and viewed.

The Public hearing on the 2010 budget will be held Feb. 11, 2010 at 7:00pm at the Town Hall.

February 5,2010 John Bolles accompanied by Scott Paige, completed a walk-thru of the Town Hall upstairs/downstairs to note any needed repairs. Mr. Paige will send a letter detailing recommendations.
