SULLIVAN CONSERVATION COMMISSION
Sullivan Town Hall
April 18, 2017

Present:  Wendy Pelletier, Roger Sweet, Eric White, Chip Woodbury and Becky Cummings.

The minutes of the March meeting were accepted as read.

Eric reminded people he has a trail meeting set up for April 25th at the Sullivan Library at 6:30 pm.  Wendy will print out new copies of the Sullivan tax maps north of Sweet’s for the meeting.

Leslie Casey contacted New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord.  One of the students has chosen Jewett Park as his landscape design project.  He has the town questionnaire responses and will present his final design on May 2 at NHTI in Concord.  Leslie will attend and anyone else who may be interested is invited.  It will be good to see his plans, ideas and suggestions for the property.

Roger said he and Ann recently enjoyed leading a woods walk with the Super Seniors group from the Keene Senior Center.  Surprisingly, people in the group were not familiar with the woods at all.  The group identified trees and saw sign of porcupine, bobcat and bear.  Future walks/hikes led by Roger and Ann will include Surry Dam, Chapman Pond and the site of the First Meetinghouse in Sullivan.

Clean-up day is May 6th.  Eric will pick up two cases of blue bags from Litter Free NH.  When added to the ones Roger has, this will give the commission a supply for a few years.  Roger spoke with Jim&Sue Holley who live on Sullivan Centre Rd. in Keene and told them about our clean-up day.  The Keene end of Centre St. always needs attention.  The Holleys will print up flyers for other Keene people in that area to see if they might help with that section.  All are invited to lunch in the church hall.

Wendy has not heard anything on the perambulation bill and will check it out.  She has the coordinates for Gilsum and Stoddard which should be done this year.  Roger suggested it is best to do the perambulations in the fall when the leaves come off the trees.

Meeting adjourned at 7:50pm.

Respectfully Submitted,
Becky Cummings
