Minutes of December 14, 2010

Present:  Christa Patterson, Roger Sweet, Eric White&Becky Cummings.

Minutes of the November meeting were accepted as read.

The proposed cell tower in Stoddard was discussed.  Ann & Roger Sweet and Bob Switzer attended the zoning board of adjustment hearing there.  Many Stoddard residents are against the tower sighting dust hazards, problems around Granite Lake and the safety of children while it is being constructed as well as the fact that it would be visible from several places in town.  Eric recently received a letter from the SBA (Small Business Assoc.) asking if he would be willing to put a cell tower on his property.  It would be on a 100’ x 100’ fenced in area and would need a 20’ right of way.  The cell company would pay about $1,000 a month to the landowner.  Eric is not interested.

Eric reminded people to bring their 2010 animal tabulations to the next meeting so he can compile them.

The annual conservation budget will remain the same as it has been in previous years - $1,500.  This will cover Sullivan’s share of monitoring the Ashuelot River, hazardous waste disposal for town residents at the Keene Recycling Center, workshops, the annual meeting and educational projects.

Roger gave a report from the Energy Committee.  Ann & Roger Sweet, Dennis Noonan and Jeff Brooks met with the selectmen to apply to the town for a $6,000 to $7,000 warrant article to help with insulation for the town garage.  The town may turn them down in order to save the taxpayers money.

The NES Access before and after school program contacted the conservation commission to get suggestions for programs.  One idea was to introduce them to the various hiking trails in town.  Members are asked to think about others.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted,

Becky Cummings
