Minutes of January 14, 2014

Present: Randy Smith, Roger Sweet, Eric White, Chip Woodbury, Becky Cummings and resident, Henry “Butch” Brooks.

Minutes of the November meeting were approved as written.  No meeting was held in January.

Butch told the commission the selectmen have received the legal wording of the easement and it should be signed at the Jan. 20th selectmen’s meeting.

The commission decided not to ask for more funding for their capital reserve fund at this year’s town meeting.  Eric will explain in the annual commission report for the town report.

Town clean-up day was discussed with April 26th and May 3rd being named as the best dates as they are before black fly season.  Becky suggested some people might be interested in weeding the town hall garden and Roger thought it might be a good time to remove the invasive euonymus in front of the hall.  A good replacement would be blueberry bushes.

Butch wondered about a clean-up day for old tires in town.  Perhaps Cheshire Tire or Tire warehouse would have a dumpster we could use.

Roger said the road up Winch Hill is in great shape.  Water bars and culverts are working well.  The top of an old pine tree near the monument snapped off and the brush from it needs to be cleaned up.  It missed hitting the monument.

Roger gave the commission an up-date on items the energy commission is working on.

The ZBA met two weeks ago and voted not to rehear the denial of Antis.  Antis next step would be to go to Superior Court.

Meeting adjourned at 7:56 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted,
Becky Cummings
