Minutes of March 15, 2011

Present:  Elise Kuder, Roger Sweet, Eric White, Hilliare Wilder and Becky Cummings.

Minutes of the February meeting were approved as read.

A brief discussion was held about the proposed Agricultural Commission and that some people seem to be opposed to it.  It was suggested that perhaps they don’t understand the concept and that it would be a commission made up of town farmers and be a way for them to promote farming in the area and to protect local farmers.

Next month Eric plans to attend the planning board meeting to have the NRI adopted.

April 30 is town clean-up day.   Mary Monroe from NES Access, the before and after school program in Gilsum mentioned to Eric&Roger that they would like to participate.  The commission would welcome the group and assign them to some of the less traveled roads in town.

Swift Corwin should be getting back to Eric soon with the new management plan for the Town Farm.

The Intent to Cut filed by Jeremy Kinson was discussed.

A workshop about saving special places will be held at Kearsage Regional High School on April 9th from 8 am to 3:45 pm.

Roger reported that the Energy Committee had gone to Chester, VT to see and hear about their outside wood boiler.  Then they went to a furnace company in Newport to see what they have to offer.  The NH DOT is in the process of putting in 29 outside burning furnaces.

Meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted,
Becky Cummings
