Minutes of May 27, 2016

Present:  Roger Sweet, Eric White, Hilliare Wilder, Chip Woodbury and Becky Cummings.

Minutes of the April meeting were accepted as read.

Roger said 34 or more people participated in roadside cleanup.  He has not received total weight, etc. from Randy.  Eric asked Hilliare if there had been any recent action on the bottle bill.  None that he is aware of but he hasn’t been as involved as he was previously when the bill was going to vote.

Randy Smith was recently sworn in for another term on the commission but has requested to be an alternate.

The Trails Group and Conservation members will work on Jewett Park cleanup on June 4.  Meet at the library at 9 am for coffee and then head out.  If there are enough people, the group will split up with some going to the Town Farm to complete some work there.  In the future it would be convenient to have use of a chipper to clean up the cut brush and then lay the chips on the park trails.

Discussion followed on how to connect the Town Farm trail to the Jewett Park area.  There is a swampy area between The Farm and the Town Barn.  A footbridge could be installed here or people could walk around for it a few feet on the abutting property.  No decisions were made.  Eric is putting together a letter to send to abutters of town trails requesting permission to go over their property, if need be.

Eric received email correspondence from Cathy Finch saying their daughter (a freshman in high school) would like to do some volunteer work.

The Sullivan Zoning Board of Adjustment will be meeting at the Sullivan Town Hall on June 2, 2016 at 7:00 PM. This meeting is a continuation of the application by SBA Towers 1X, LLC for cell tower facility on Apple Hill.

An Intent to Cut off Bowlder Road was filed by Lakeshore Properties.  It is on a 40 acre landlocked piece previously owned by Robert Thayer.

Next meeting in June.  No meeting will be held in July.

Meeting adjourned at 7:55 pm.

Respectfully Submitted,
Becky Cummings
