Minutes of October 13, 2009

Present:  Christa Patterson, Roger Sweet, Hilliare Wilder and Becky Cummings.

Roger presided over the meeting as Chairman Eric White was out of town.

Minutes of the September meeting were approved as read.

The Roxbury Planning Board has approved the cell tower which will be erected on Houghton Ledge.

Eric and Scott Lake have discussed the forest plan for the Town Farm but have yet to meet with the selectmen.

Eric has also completed photographing invasive species for the NRI (Natural Resource Inventory).  This will make a nice addition to the booklet.

Thanks were given to the people who were able to make it to Jewett Park on clean up day.  They are: Dick Smith, Randy&Sheila Smith, Roger&Ann Sweet, Eric White and Hilliare Wilder.  Much brush and many trees were cut and trimmed.  The firewood (8’ lengths) will be donated to some who are in need.

The Energy Committee has submitted the application for a grant for an energy audit and is waiting to hear the outcome.  They are also getting estimates to repair the heating zones in the town hall and will look into the problems of the water conditioner in the same building.

Randy received approval for two culvert replacements in town; one behind the fire station and the other on Cross Rd.

The NH Association of Conservation Commissions will hold its annual meeting on Nov. 7.

Eric received results of the Aug. – Sept. Ashuelot Valley Water Testing.  PH is very low in Washington which is not good but the e-coli further downstream is somewhat diminished this year.

Meeting adjourned at 7:43 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted,
Becky Cummings
