Minutes of October 14, 2014

Present:  Roger Sweet, Eric White and Becky Cummings.  Lindsay Hamrick also came to see if she might be interested in joining Conservation.

The minutes of the August meeting were accepted as read.  No meeting was held in September.

Roger and Eric explained the land use change tax to Lindsay.

Eric reminded people of the annual meeting of NH Conservation Commissions.  No one from our group is able to attend this year.

The budget for next year was discussed.  Final to be presented to the selectmen is:
    $ 265  membership
    $   25  postage
    $ 120  training
    $ 500  education
    $ 100  water testing
    $ 933  hazardous waste
    $1943 TOTAL

A pine tree has fallen near the monument on Winch Hill and needs to be cut.  ATV use in the area was also discussed.  The Fish&Game Dept. has free signs restricting the use of ATV’s.  It would be good to post these in areas of concern.

Roger read an interesting article Ann Sweet had written about invasive species in NH.  It will also be in the next issue of the newsletter.

Lindsay agreed she would be interested in joining the commission.  After the meeting an email vote was taken of all members.  A majority replied with the decision to invite Lindsay positive.

Meeting adjourned at 8 pm.

Respectfully Submitted,
Becky Cummings
