Minutes of October 18, 2016

SULLIVAN CONSERVATON COMMISSION
Sullivan Town Hall
Oct. 18, 2016

Present:  Ginni McByrne, Jim McByrne, Roger Sweet, Eric White, Hilliare Wilder and Becky Cummings.

The minutes of the September meeting were accepted as read.

Eric received notification from the State that several culverts are being replaced on Centre St.

Another hearing on the proposed cell tower was held earlier this month and was followed by a ZBA meeting to approve the minutes.  Most everything seems to be in place except final permitting for the driveway access, State permits and a final permit from the town selectmen.

The conservation budget for 2017 was discussed and will include:
$265        NHAC annual dues and some meeting expenses
$25        Postage
$120        Training
$500        Youth Education
$933        Town cleanup lunch, hazardous waste
$125        Water Testing
$1968    Total
The $25 increase over last year’s budget is due to a projected water testing cost increase.

Kate Fuller, Town Administrative Assistant, notified surrounding towns about town line perambulations and passed the contact information she had received on to Eric.  They are Nelson (2011) – Gary Robinson; Gilsum  (1998), Roxbury (2009) – Tim O’Brien, Stoddard (1998) – Jim Coffey and Keene (2004) – no word received.  Years in parenthesis are the last year the perambulations were done.   Eric will contact the appropriate people.  Priorities are Gilsum and Stoddard first and then Keene.

Discussion followed with Roger explaining previous perambulations with routes of most convenient access, best times of year and difficulty of certain sections.  He has done them all.

It was suggested the perambulations take place after hunting season as a courtesy to hunters because their season is short and having a group of people making noise in the woods would not be appreciated, especially on weekends.  It was also suggested to walk the lines in swampy areas after the ground freezes.

Meeting adjourned at 8:11 pm.

Respectfully Submitted,
Becky Cummings
