Getting Ready for Town Meeting

Town Election Day is Tuesday March 13th and Town Meeting is generally held the following evening.   Several town offices have positions open for election.  They are:

Selectman (1 position, 1 year and 1 position, 3 years)
Budget Committee (3 positions, 3 years)
Trustee of Trust Funds (1 position for 3 years, 1 position for 2 years and 1 position for 1 year)
Moderator (1 position for 2 years)
Treasurer (1 position, 1 year)
Overseer of the Poor (1 position, 1 year) 
Cemetery Trustee (1 position, 3 years)
Library Trustee (1 position, 3 years) 

The filing period is from January 25th through February 3rd at the Town Clerk’s office and the fee is $1.  New people are always welcome to fill positions.  Town Clerk, Mary Hull can fill you in on what is involved with each one and where help is needed.   

In addition, there are also town boards/committees with positions open.  These are appointed.  If you are interested or would like more information, contact Mary Hull, Town Clerk or the people listed below.  They include the Planning Board (Bob Switzer, 847-3170), the Zoning Board of Adjustment (Rick Hotchkiss, 847-3015), the Recreation Committee (Mary Monroe 847-9126) and the Energy Committee (Ann Sweet, 847-3463).
