Note from the Sullivan Fire and Rescue Department

Dear Sullivan Residents and Friends,

2018 was an active year for the Sullivan Fire Company and its fundraising activities. The Fire Company is a nonprofit organization comprised of fire department members, spouses and those interested in supporting the Sullivan Fire&Rescue Department. The money raised through these fundraising efforts directly supports the fire department’s needs, most notably this year by supporting:

The Friends of the Sullivan Library with their endeavors to install a new water filtration system. The Fire Dept. and the Library share the same water system. It is great that the water in our toilets and sinks is no longer as red as our fire trucks. We have also used funds for uniforms, clothing, equipment and many other department needs. It goes without saying, many of the fundraisers were generously supported by a great many donations from businesses, organizations and individuals. We would like to take a moment to acknowledge and thank their generosity.

We would like to start with those that donated to make our calendar raffle possible:
Our grand prize contributor was Davis Oil with a $150 service cleaning. New England Fleet Services, The Sullivan Country Store, The Stage Restaurant, Andys Cycle, Friendly’s, and Market Basket supplied the “Weekend” prizes ($50 or more). For our “Weekday” contributors ($20-$40) we would like to thank: Athens Pizza, Five Guy’s, China Wok, Jim Eddie’s, Sam’s Outdoor Outfitters, Chilis, Toadstool Bookstore, Longhorn, Domino’s, Brewtopia, Monadnock Food Co-op, Pizza Pie, Aubuchon Hardware, Dunkin Donuts, Hot Hogs BBQ, Auto Zone, Price Chopper, King’s Garden, Hannaford, Papagallos, Smart Power Sports and Home Depot. We would also like to thank Gem Graphics for assisting with designing our raffle tickets and sponsor us for printing. We held four other fundraisers over the course of the year. Thanks to Freihofer Bakery Outlet for donating the rolls for our pulled pork and beef brisket sandwiches at our open house. Katrina Reid from Paint Nite Nashua held a “paint night” at the Sullivan fire station and donated door prizes for our open house. A big thanks to Mint Car wash for our month of April car wash. Our largest fundraiser to date was the Memorial Day weekend yard sale, so a giant thank you everyone who donated “treasures” to make it a success.
Last, but definitely not least, thank you to everyone who attended our events, purchased tickets or made donations. The money raised by the Sullivan Fire Company supports the Sullivan Fire Department operations without adding to the tax burden. We hope to see you again in 2019!
