Minutes of December 3, 2008

Chairman Steve Hamilton called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. Present, in addition to the chairman, were members Michelle Degree, Keith Martin, Ann Sweet, and Bob Switzer. Absent were Joe Fitzpatrick and Dave Jakway. There was no selectmen’s representative.

Minutes of the meeting of November 5, 2008, were accepted as distributed.

Town budget hearings begin next week. No increase will be requested.

Town website
Mr. Switzer has requested town support for a conversion of the town website to a content management system, which will let authorized persons to post town business (e.g. planning board minutes) directly.

Energy conservation efforts
Mrs. Sweet expressed hope that an energy committee would be formed in town. At a request from Cool Monadnock, she collected data on town department energy use (electricity, fuel) during 2005. That information was sent for analysis to Cool Monadnock, which has promised to return with recommendations. Such data has been requested from all area towns. Temple has a particularly active energy committee with a project to help residents in need of energy assistance for this winter.

Driveway permits
A letter was sent on November 10 to Ms. LaVanture listing the needed additions to her application for a driveway on Corey Mine Road. Mrs. Sweet is waiting for information from the road agent in order to remind several homeowners about the need to pave their driveway aprons.

Riesenberg plat
Needed checks (for county and for LCHIP) having been provided, the plat was filed.

Absence of a selectmen’s representative
Board members noted that there has been no selectmen’s representative at a planning board meeting since September. A letter will be sent to the selectmen requesting a representative, which is a statutory requirement.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:28 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Ann Sweet, Secretary
