Minutes of December 5, 2007

Chairman Steve Hamilton called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present, in addition to the chairman, were members Michelle Degree, Dave Jakway, Keith Martin, Ann Sweet, and Bob Switzer. Absent were Joe Fitzpatrick and Rick Hotchkiss, the Selectmen‘s Representative. Keith Martin stood in for Joe Fitzpatrick. 

Minutes of the meeting of November 7, 2007, were accepted as distributed. 

Announcements from the Chair
ZBA hearings scheduled for November 20 were not completed. Dean hearing on application for a variance on proposed subdivision, having been incompletely noticed, was rescheduled for December 18. Paquette hearing on application for a special exception to permit location of a wood processing business on his property on Price Road will be rescheduled, because of incomplete notice and lack of a coherent plan. Meanwhile, the selectmen had delivered a Cease and Desist order to put a halt to the business until the ZBA could rule on the application. Several members said the business continues, despite the selectmen’s order.

Article III.A.3. Agriculture, small-scale husbandry …. 

C.2. Combine 2. and 3. to read: A circle with a diameter of 200 feet must fit within the boundaries at the building site. 

Article V.A. A building permit shall be required for all dwelling units and to erect or place any type of building or any structure. (Previous language did not require permits for any structure under 700 square feet.) 

B.5. The general contours of the land and location of any wetlands.

It was agreed to ask Mr. Hotchkiss where his draft proposals regarding waste disposal systems should go in the CPO.
