Minutes of May 5, 2010

Chairman Bob Switzer called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.  Present, in addition to the chairman, were members  Michelle Degree,  Laura Lewandowski,  John Little, and Ann Sweet.  Absent were Dave Jakway  and  Selectmen‘s representative Cheryl Labadie.
Minutes of the meeting of April 7, 2009, were accepted as distributed.

Pending projects
Chairman Switzer announced that Mark Smith is waiting for more information before continuing the hearing on his subdivision request and that Jim Forrest does not yet have the required federal permits for his gun shop.

Upcoming meetings
John Little will attend the workshops updating legislation pertinent to planning in Marlborough June 2 and June 9.  No one is able to attend the annual planning conference May 8.

Master plan
Chairman Switzer announced that it is time to begin thinking about updating the Master Plan most recently presented in 2005.  Michele Degree, Laura Lewandowski,  and Jack Little all expressed interest in working on revisions.  The completion of the 2010 census will be pertinent to sections of the plan.  An energy chapter needs to be written.  Copies of the plan will be obtained for John Little and Laura Lewandowski, the newest members of the planning board.

Capital Improvement Plan
Members of the board were asked to look at the OEP website at the planning handbook, chapter 6, for a thorough discussion of CIP planning.  The first question is whether a group outside the planning board should be assembled to undertake the process“  www.nh.gov/resourcelibrary/documents/pbhandbook

The annual road cleanup will be May 8 and a hike up Otter Brook May 9.
