Update on Site Plan Approval of the gun shop on Centre St. of Jim Forrest
At the April meeting of the planning board, Jim Forrest’s application for site plan approval had been granted with several stipulations.  Mr. Forrest presented the federal firearms license, which had been pending.  He also provided a letter of intention, which proposes a 12 by 40 foot addition to the building housing the gun shop and his auto repair shop.  He is not sure when that addition will be built.  He explained features of the plat, which will be kept in the file.  He promised to seek approval of the fire chief this very evening.  He will place a shield on the exterior lamp in the near future.  Additional exterior lighting will be placed under the eaves.  Mr. Forrest may change hours of operation.  He will notify the planning board when he does.

It was agreed that Mr. Switzer, Mr. Jakway, and Mrs. Sweet would do a site visit this evening.

Master Plan update
Chairman Switzer passed around the updated version of the questionnaire to be distributed by way of the town newsletter to assess the attitudes and hopes of townspeople in preparation for the Master Plan updating.

Member concerns
Several members noted with regret the absence of the selectmen’s representative.

Mr. Smith reported that over the last few years  perhaps as many as 850 acres of forest in the Houghton Ledge/Hubbard Road area had been severely cut over.  He could not estimate the long term effect of this dramatic change in the area.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Ann Sweet, Secretary
