  1. CALL
    TO ORDER: Chairman Pro-tempore Laura Merrifield called the meeting
    to order at
    6:30
    pm. Laura Merrifield made a motion to approve the minutes of the May
    9, 2016 meeting, seconded by Joseph Lewandowski. The minutes were
    unanimously approved with amendments.

  1. SELECTMEN’S
    BUSINESS:

  1. Health
    Officer Laura Lewandowski-NHDES recommendations and Rugg Road
    garbage nuisance
    - Laura
    drafted a Public Notice on water testing, the draft will be worked
    on and posted; and could go into the newsletter. Laura is concerned
    about a resident with a garbage nuisance, this resident has had a
    letter from the Board prior to this and another letter will be
    drafted as a first step. Laura also reported a dog bite from a
    chocolate lab on Valley Road.

  1. Kevin
    Wheeler-Gravel Pit
    - An
    inquiry was posed as to what was needed to open a gravel pit, this
    was referred to the clerk of the Zoning Board of Adjustment.

  1. Forest
    Fire Report/Bill for Alstead
    -Signed
    by the Board.

  1. Capital
    Reserve Fund Application-Forest Fire Fighting Liabilities and
    Equipment for fire retardant clothing
    -Signed
    by the Board.

  1. Town
    Emergency Plan Update
    -Copy
    of Draft was given to the Road Agent, the Board, and the chairman of
    the Planning Board, comments needed by July 8
    th.

  1. Ginny
    Yawarski-Ordinances for farm animals
    -
    Mrs. Yawarski is worried about the welfare of her neighbor’s
    livestock after a baby goat was killed by a car when loose. The
    Board will follow up with possible solutions.

  1. Audit
    Update with work papers
    -The
    audit with Plodzik and Sanderson for the 2015 fiscal year, under the
    direction of Ashley Miller, has completed their fieldwork. The
    Selectmen have asked for a draft report of the findings and were
    given the work papers that the draft will be generated from
    .

  1. Fire
    Department Yard Sale Items for review
    -The
    Board reviewed a list of items from the storage room and the old
    police station for sale or disposal.

  1. Engagement
    Letter from Plodzik and Sanderson and questionnaire
    -
    The engagement letter from the auditor was signed and the
    questionnaire distributed.

  1. Payroll,
    Vendor Payments and Purchase Orders
    -
    Approved as submitted.

  1. Miscellaneous/General
    Discussion
    -NHMA Legislative
    Bulletin received, Sullivan Trail Group will be working on the
    trails on June 4
    th,
    NHES Community Profile request received, Invitation about Complete
    Street event May 20
    th,
    Notice about Community Development Block Grants, Communication from
    Jae Whitelaw of Mitchell Municipal Group updates on Fairpoint
    litigation, Minutes from May Joint Loss Management meeting, Minutes
    from March Planning Board Meeting. Memorial Day is on Monday the
    30
    th,
    therefor the Selectmen’s meeting will be held on Tuesday May 31
    st.

    To enter non-public session for the purpose of litigation.

MOTION:
Chairman Pro-tempore Laura Merrifield moved to adjourn the meeting at
8:37 pm.
