Board members present: Chairman Laura Merrifield, Jeff Burbank and Marsha Cook

Department Heads/Officers: Mary Hull-Town Clerk/Tax Collector

Public: 

CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Laura Merrifield called the meeting to order at 6:30pm. Jeff Burbank made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 26, 2018 meeting, seconded by Marsha Cook. The minutes were unanimously approved as amended. 

PUBLIC COMMENT-None. 
 
SELECTMEN’S BUSINESS:

Mary Hull-Tax Collector-Tax Deed for 101 Gilsum Road-The owners at this property had filed for bankruptcy and that action was dismissed. Their property can now be tax deeded. The total owed on this property of back taxes and land use change taxes is $23,151.60 as of April 2, 2018. The Board will make a last attempt to come to an agreement with them to pay their back taxes and are requesting that they come to the next meeting. Kate will call and send a certified letter asking for their attendance to discuss the outstanding balance. Laura Merrifield will stop by and invite them to the meeting. 

Fraud Policy and Credit Card Policy-for adoption-Signed by the Board. 

Abatement Application for 96 Ferry Brook Road-The Board discussed and signed the abatement.  Laura Merrifield will draft the abatement letter to the Rokes for the Board to review. 

Payroll, Vendor Payments and Purchase Orders-Purchase orders and manifest approved as submitted.

Miscellaneous/General Discussion-NHMA legislative bulletin, received. Check from Al Henry received. E-mail from Susan Merritt of 911 about her early retirement, received. Letter from DOT about tax exempt property, received. Thank you letter from Keene Community Kitchen, received. SWRPC Highlights, received. E-mail from DOS about suspicious e-mail, received. Letter about State of NH Surplus Property Auction, received. Copy of CDL permit for new Road Agent, received. Letter from the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources division of Parks and Recreation about Jewett Park, received and Kate will research. Kate spoke to a Deputy at the Sheriff’s Department about a complaint received against the dogs at 299 Centre Street, the Sheriff’s Department is following up with the complainant. 

Board of Selectmen-General Discussion-Laura Merrifield spoke to an phone call she received from the Keene Fire Department about extending the ALS contract to 14 months so that all of the towns with this service are on the same schedule. Laura Merrifield talked to the Labor Attorney associated with the NHMA and they assured the Town that the way that the Board is proceeding with setting the compensation for elected officials is correct.
