Minutes of April 27, 2009

Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m.

Selectmen Present: Cheryl Labadie, Bob Thayer, and Mark Paquette.

Others Present: Bob Switzer (Planning Board Chair), Randy Smith (Road Agent)

Payroll and Bills were approved.

The Selectman reviewed and approved an Intent to cut Timber form for property owned by Rick Hotchkiss (M/L 3-077-000,Cross Road).

Meeting Minutes of April 6, 2009 were approved as written.

Meeting Minutes of April 20, 2009 were approved as amended.

Bob Switzer spoke briefly about a recent inquiry of constructing a house on Monument Road, a discontinued road. The Community Planning Ordinance requires road frontage on a Class V (town-Maintained) or better road.

Randy Smith received prices for the purchase of a wood chipper vs. the cost of rental for the removal of debris due to the Decenber ice storm. C. Labadie motioned to purcchase the chipper Mark Paquette seconded the motion, and rent a bucket truck for a day to remove hanging limbs. The town will receive payment from FEMA to cover 75% of the anticipated costs of debris removal. A purchase order for the acquisition of the chipper will be completed and submitted to the Selectmen for approval.

It was noted that Avitar Associates (contracted assessors) sent letters to property owners to advise them of their new property values. It has been five years since the town-wide revelation in 2004 and the town is due for an assessment update this year.

Jim Gibney, represenative of the NH Dept.of Revenue administration assessment bureau, will meet with Selectmen Monday May 11 at 6:00 p.m. to go over the assessment review process. The meeting will take one to two hours.

There was a brief discussion regarding the Zoning Board of Adjustment and its need of members.
