Meeting Minutes, August 27, 2018

Board members present: Laura Merrifield, Jeff Burbank and Marsha Cook 

Department Heads/Officers: Todd Smith Road Agent

Public: None

CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Laura Merrifield called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Jeff Burbank made a motion to approve the minutes of the August 20, 2018 meeting, seconded by Marsha Cook. The minutes were unanimously approved as amended. 

PUBLIC COMMENT: None
 
SELECTMEN’S BUSINESS:

Todd Smith Road Agent-Todd reviewed two large purchase orders. The first one was for removing ledge from Hubbard Road as part of the repaving project. The second was for the purchase of sand and gravel for winter. Quotes were reviewed and the purchase orders were approved. 

Review of Building Permit for Map 1 Lot 11-Old County Road-A letter was received from Mr. Barden reporting that he had no septic system or well on the property. This response answered the outstanding questions that the Board had asked and the permit was approved. 

Election coverage-schedule for the Selectmen’s coverage times-For the September 11th primary election Laura Merrifield will cover the polls from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and Marsha Cook will cover from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Kate will verify the times of the other election. 

Choose inspection date and time for 267 Centre Street-The Board chose two inspection dates and Kate will confirm one for the inspection. 

Payroll, Vendor Payments and Purchase Orders-Purchase orders and manifest approved as submitted. 

NHMA Legislative Policies for review-The Board reviewed the policies but will not send a delegate. 

Miscellaneous/General Discussion
NHMA Legislative Bulletin, received. 
Jay Kahn, State Senator for District 10, is coming to the September 10th meeting to thank the Board for their service, other department heads and committee chairs invited. 
E-mail from resident concerning possible wetlands in Town, received. The Board ascertained that the area being questioned was not a wetland and Kate will e-mail the concerned party. 
Legislation from State RSA 485-A:32 pertaining to failed septic systems, received. Marsha Cook will call Rob Tardif of the DES for some clarification. 
Vacation request from Todd Smith, received. 
A new 911 designation was created for 373 Rt 9. 
The MS-1 extension has been filed. 

Board of Selectmen-General Discussion
The Board decided to install a game camera with a view of the dumpster to deter and document unlawful dumping. Marsha Cook will loan her camera for a trial.
