Meeting Minutes, December 4, 2017

Board members present: Chairman Laura Merrifield, Jeff Burbank and Joe Lewandowski

CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Laura Merrifield called the meeting to order at 8:05 immediately following the Budget Meeting. Jeff Burbank made a motion to approve the minutes of the November 27, 2017 meeting, seconded by Joe Lewandowski. The minutes were unanimously approved as amended. 

PUBLIC COMMENT-Leslie Casey-Planning Board Chairman-Leslie expressed a concern about filling a vacancy on the Driveway committee. She was informed that this will be addressed at a later date. (Note-This comment was made in the budget meeting but is noted here. 


Equalization ratio 2017-Reviewed and signed by the Board 

Stipend Requests-Signed by Board

Payroll, Vendor Payments and Purchase Orders-Purchase orders and manifest approved as submitted.

Miscellaneous/General Discussion-Cheshire County Board of Commissioners Proposed Budget 2018, received. Driveway paving notice from DOT received, this will be passed on to the Planning Board. Copy of letter to 62 Ellis Road from Attorney Gary Kinyon received. Letter from Avitar regarding Land Use Change Tax for the Cell Tower received.  

Board of Selectmen-General Discussion-Laura Merrifield will meet with our Attorney on December 6, 2017 to visit some properties that are not in compliance with the CPO. Laura Merrifield gave the time and place of the funeral services for Randy Smith. Staffing strategies for the Highway department were also discussed and Laura will follow up on temporary workers. Laura Merrifield relayed a phone message that she received from Jim Forrest, he has sustained an injury that will probably impact the clean up on his property at 267 Centre Street. 


MOTION: Laura Merrifield moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 pm.
