Approved Meeting Minutes, January 28, 2019

Board members present: Laura Merrifield, Marsha Cook, Jeff Burbank

Public: None

CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Laura Merrifield called the meeting to order at 6:30pm. Jeff Burbank made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 21, 2019 meeting, seconded by Marsha Cook. The minutes were unanimously approved as amended.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None

SELECTMEN’S BUSINESS:

Todd Smith of the Sullivan Highway Department came before the board to give specifics for a capital reserves purchase of a spreader. The current spreader is 22 years old and has broken down 3 times this winter so far. The Board unanimously approved the purchase and will send the request over to the Board of Trustees of the Trust Funds.

The Agreement between the Sullivan Congregational Church (SCC) and the Board of Selectmen (BOS) was unanimously approved and signed by all BOS.

 Marsha Cook went over her BOS report for the 2018 Town Report and Laura Merrifield went over her BOS article for the Town Newsletter.

The Avitar recommended Property Abatement was signed by the BOS. Jamie to send letter to Ann Gray with news of decision.

Payroll, vendor payments and purchase orders were approved as submitted.

Miscellaneous /General Discussion

Dates for the 2018 Audit are May 14, 15, and16

Jamie is working on the 2018 Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illness for the US Dept. of Labor and Labor Statistics. This needs to be completed as Todd Smith had an injury in 2018.

2 Notices from SWRPC were received

Councilman Volinsky Bulletin was received

2 Bulletins from NHMA were received

Update on Old Business Items, Junkyards:                                                                                                                                                                      62 Ellis Road, recommend keeping this on list as waiting for Attorney response. Deadline for response is February 13, 2019.
                                                                                                                                                                                      267 Centre Street, need to follow-up as car carrier is to be dismantled, recommend to keep on list

24 Arlen Drive, Tax deeded property with auction to follow, recommend keeping this on list.

96 Ferry Brook Road, has received ZBA approval for variance, BOS need to send a letter to the owner regarding applying for a building permit, Jamie will draft letter, recommend keeping this on list.                                                      



PSNH/ Eversource, pending litigation, recommend keeping this on list.
