Minutes of January 5, 2009

Selectmen present: Rick Hotchkiss, Cheryl Labadie, Bob Thayer

Town Officials present: Al Henry 

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM

Town bills were reviewed and approved.

A copy of the updated Selectmen’s budget was reviewed.The budget committee will meet Thursday January 8 at 7:00 to discuss this budget. The committee will also meet on January 14.

Al Henry wanted to let the Selectmen know that there was definitely a State of Emergency declared due to the recent ice storm; he has submitted all the necessary paperwork to the State. 

Al Henry suggested that we create a capitol reserve for an Emergency fund in the event of another weather disaster. He will create a warrant article regarding this. This money would come from the Fund balance as to not raise taxes. The Selectmen and the emergency management director would have a dual responsibility in deciding how much of this money would be allocated and where.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM.
