Approved Meeting Minutes Draft
October 15, 2012 – 7:30 PM
Sullivan Town Hall

Board members present: Mark Paquette, Gary Patnode

Department heads present:

Also present, Karen Luebkeman, AA

A. CALL TO ORDER: Mark Paquette called the meeting to order at 7:30PM

C. Department Heads:

D. Selectmen’s Business:

General business including the approving of payroll and vendor payments, review of invoices and PO’s were addressed.

The Administrative Assistant updated the Selectmen on the Ferry Brook Bridge Project bidding process. The newspaper advertisement is appearing in the Keene Sentinel for one week, per FEMA instructions and a project review meeting with the engineer is scheduled for October 23rd for contractors to go over the bidding documents with the engineer and the road agent.

The AA advised the Selectmen that paving on South Road has been completed.

The AA discussed with the Selectmen the injunction filed by Fairpoint Communications disputing their property assessments here in Sullivan and through New Hampshire.

Although the initial injunction was forwarded to the Town’s attorney for handling, the Town has the option of joining a group of Avitar customers who will utilize the services of one lawyer and share the resulting expenses. Depending on the size of the group, legal fees could be substantially less if handled this way. The Selectmen agreed that further information on both options should be investigated.

The Selectmen have decided to change the Selectmen’s Meeting from 7:30PM to 6:30PM due to the length of recent meetings. This will take effect December 1st, 2012.

The change in hours will be included in the upcoming newsletter as well as being posted in the Town Hall.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:00PM.

Respectfully Submitted,

Karen Luebkeman, AA
