Town of Sullivan, N.H. Board of Selectmen Approved Meeting Minutes October 24, 2011 – 7:30 PM Sullivan Town Hall
Board members present: Bob Thayer, Mark Paquette
Department heads present: Randy Smith
Also present: Karen Luebkeman, Administrative Assistant
A. CALL TO ORDER: Bob Thayer opened the meeting at 7:33
B. CITIZEN’S DISCUSSION:
Ann Sweet updated the board on the status of the Wood Boiler project for the
highway garage. We had one bid for the project. In checking the references
on this contractor we received good feedback from previous customers. The bid
is $3,556.00 higher than the amount of the grant so the Town would need to pick up the excess. Ann believes that the Building Maintenance Fund could be the
source for this, which currently has approximately $19,000.00 in it. Rick
Hotchkiss is currently working on finalizing the contract. Once signed by both
parties the boiler would be ordered. There was some concern mentioned due to
the fact that we are getting started very late in the season and we run the risk of
frost settling in. Later in the evening the question regarding whether or not the
sand needed to back fill the project or the concrete pad was included in the
figures mentioned by Ann.
MOTION: Bob Thayer made a motion to accept the bid.
SECOND: Mark Pauqette second the motion.
Ann Sweet advised that the new windows had been installed in the library and
brought a check for $1,674.47 from Friends of the Sullivan Library representing 50% of the total cost. The Town now needs to provide a matching check for the other 50%.
C. Department Heads:
Randy Smith submitted $504.00 in cash from the sale of the old metal culverts.
E. ADJOURNMENT:
Meeting was adjourned by agreement at 8:45 PM.
Respectfully Submitted,
Karen B. Luebkeman,
Administrative Assistant, Town of Sullivan
