Selectmen Minutes of Sept. 28, 2009

Meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm

Selectmen Present: Cheryl Labadie, Mark Paquette and Bob Thayer.

Payroll and Bills will be prepared tomorrow morning at 10:00 am due to the power outage today. Fawn will need the Selectmen to go to the Office to sign the manifest.

Tammy Sprague of 312 Centre St., she already brought in the $25.00 fee for the building permit. To avoid additional taxation she will have to have the old house torn down by April 1, 2010 in order to not receive a tax bill for that building. The selectmen signed the permit and gave her a copy of it to prove that it has been signed.

Sharon Webber of Cross Rd. came in to get a pre approval for a septic system. The Selectmen went over the map of the system the old one needs to be replaced or they can put in a new 1000 gallon tank. She paid her septic system fee. They left it for Fawn to mail.

Purchase orders were signed for Cheshire Earth, Consolidated Electric and for Tim Aho.

Neil "Al" Henry Fire Chief: there was a discussion about the POD Project. The meeting is this coming Wednesday at 7:00pm. There was a discussion about the cracks in the walls in the cement at the Fire Station, Cheryl and Mark will go to check it out.

Karl Wheeler Police Chief cam to the meeting to let the Selectmen know about the Coy Dogs that we have in Sullivan. He would like for everyone to know. They have killed 2 steer and one dog and many cats. People need to be aware. They are in pack of 20-30 coy dogs. The season to hunt the coy dog isn’t until spring time. If they are bothering your animals then you have a right to shoot them. They have been spotted up on Bolster Rd., The Ridge, and down by Jesse Wheelers. They are nocturnal so they only come out during the night. Fawn needs to put something in the next newsletter about this situation.

Neil "Al" Henry Fire Chief needs a purchase order signed for Hampshire Fire to have the Cascade Bottles Hydro Tested. And also for turn out pants and to replace wire for the porta tank liner.

Mark Paquette Selectman saw Del at the Library. There was a discussion about Del Oulette’s Junk Yard permit. He needs a state inspection. That is not scheduled yet.

Bob Thayer Selectman told Cheryl and Mark that the Town of Roxbury needs someone from our town to walk the boundaries. Roger Sweet was going to walk the boundaries. Selectmen will call Roger to se when he is going to walk it or if it has already been done.
